Most Outstanding CPA in Public Practice

Punongbayan & Araullo (P&A) Managing Partner & CEO Marivic Españo was recently recognized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) as Most Outstanding CPA in Public Practice for 2011. The annual award, which was given during the PICPA Annual National Convention held in Subic in November, recognizes a professional who has made significant contributions to public accounting at the national level through the successful pursuit of a professional practice and the strict adherence to professional and ethical standards. Prior to becoming CEO of P&A – one of the largest auditing firms in the country, and the local member firm of Grant Thornton International – Españo was the firm’s Chief Operating Officer and the head of the Tax Division. She once served as Chief Legislative Staff Officer of the Senate Tax Study & Research Office and Legislative Liaison Specialist of the Department of Finance.
